From July 29th to August 5th, 2024, NBCLC Bengaluru became a dynamic hub for leadership development, hosting the impactful seminar, "Empowering Inherent Leadership for Religious Community and Church." This program drew 65 religious leaders from across India, all united in their desire to enhance their leadership skills and deepen their commitment to serving the Church.
The seminar featured a diverse and experienced team of resource persons, including Rev. Fr. Jerry Rosario SJ, Rev. Fr. Kurian Kachappilly CMI, Rev. Fr. Tony Thampi CSC, Fr. Sunil Kumar, Rev. Fr. Alex CSC, Sr. Metti Amirtham, Rev. Fr. Richard Pius, and Fr. Merlin R. Ambrose. Their sessions covered a broad spectrum of topics essential for effective religious leadership in the contemporary world.
Participants explored the nuances of contemporary leadership, gaining insights into the evolving demands of their roles. They delved into the transformative teachings of Vatican II and Pope Francis, understanding how these principles can guide their ministry. The seminar addressed the personal and professional transitions of mid-life, providing valuable tools for navigating these challenges.
Practical sessions on canon law provided a solid foundation for understanding their legal and administrative responsibilities, while discussions on generation gaps fostered greater understanding and collaboration within their communities. The crucial topic of women's empowerment was addressed, promoting inclusivity and equality. And, with particular emphasis, the seminar provided in-depth training on child protection, equipping leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to safeguard vulnerable members of their communities.
