On March 2nd, 2024, the National Biblical Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (NBCLC) was transformed into a sanctuary of youthful radiance, as the Holy Childhood Program, in harmonious collaboration with the "Come to Me Daily Children's Prayer Group," presented a profoundly moving Kids Connect Gathering. Under the luminous theme, "Arise and Shine for the Glory of the Lord," sixty souls, a beautiful mosaic of children, parents, and grandparents, embarked on a day of spiritual awakening and joyful communion.
The event commenced with a gentle wave of devotion, the serene cadence of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, followed by the uplifting melodies of praise and worship, establishing an atmosphere of reverence and exuberant celebration. Fr. Ambrose, a beacon of wisdom, delivered an insightful address, illuminating the inherent dignity and unique value of each child. He masterfully drew a parallel to the Easter message of rising from darkness to light, urging the children to transcend self-centeredness, extend their hands in compassionate charity, and dedicate all actions to the glory of God, thus instilling a profound sense of humility and divine purpose.
Interactive sessions, thoughtfully designed with icebreakers and separate workshops for diverse age groups, fostered a strong sense of community and deepened the understanding of foundational faith principles. A dedicated session for parents and grandparents underscored their indispensable role in nurturing faith, reinforcing a shared responsibility in guiding the children along their spiritual journey. The afternoon blossomed with dynamic group activities, encouraging collaboration and teamwork, while a heartfelt address by Sr. Wilma Rebello reinforced the children’s vital role as beacons of hope in a world often shrouded in challenges.
The gathering was punctuated by moments of pure, unadulterated joy, including lively singing, energetic dancing, and playful games, all reinforcing the unifying message of shared celebration. The event reached its spiritual crescendo with Eucharistic adoration led by the children, a poignant expression of their unwavering faith, and a concluding blessing by Fr. Ambrose, who also distributed tokens of appreciation, leaving smiles and a palpable sense of accomplishment.
This Holy Childhood gathering transcended the boundaries of a mere celebration; it was a powerful affirmation of the inherent goodness and radiant potential residing within every child. It was a day that wove a tapestry of light, leaving an enduring impression and ensuring that the resonant message to "Arise and Shine for the Glory of the Lord" will continue to illuminate the paths of these young hearts as they grow in faith and embrace their calling as beacons of light in the world.
