Spread the Peace Through Paint and Brush – Artists’ Camp at NBCLC
19 to 21 February 2026

A three-day Artists’ Camp titled “Spread the Peace Through Paint and Brush” was successfully held at NBCLC, Bangalore, from 19 to 21 February 2026, in collaboration with the Indian Catholic Christian Artists Forum. The camp brought together 22 artists committed to promoting peace through creative expression.

The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Rev. Dr. John Baptist, along with Fr. Nysson Luka and Fr. A. Sahaya Belix, who also served as the resource person. In his keynote address, Fr. Belix highlighted the role of art in fostering peace and emphasized the responsibility of artists in the mission of the Church. The camp featured painting sessions on themes of peace, faith, and harmony, along with daily Holy Mass and a special art-based Way of the Cross. The event concluded with an exhibition showcasing the participants’ artworks.

During the valedictory, Rev. Dr. Gnana Patric encouraged deeper research in art, while Rev. Dr. John Baptist and Mrs. Priya stressed the importance of art in Church life and its unique human creativity beyond technology.

Three artists—Manavai Y. Pangiraj, J. Nelson Kennedy, and Fr. A. Sahaya Belix—were honoured with the “Artistic Luminary” National Award 2026. The camp stood as a vibrant expression of faith, creativity, and peace.
