In this Seminar, 30 Priest and Religious participated from different parts of India. We
started our seminar on 03 rd February and ended on 08 th February. Before starting the
session, we had inaugural ceremony starting with lighting of the lamp. Fr. John Baptist,
the Director of NBCLC introduced the course and program co-coordinator Fr. Nysson
introduced the resource persons and welcomed all. All the participants were glad to
attend the session.
Day 1: Foundations of Effective Leadership was handled by Dr. Fr. Jose CC, Vice
Chancellor, CU. He spoke on the key leadership styles and their applications, personal
strengths and areas for development and expounded on leadership vision and goals. Dr.
Krishna MC, SBM and Dr Justin Joy, SBM enumerated on the topic Leadership
Communication and Influence. They brought to limelight the neausance to build strong
relationships with key stakeholders and to develop persuasive communication strategies.
Day 2: Dr. Sonia Mathew, SBM and Dr. Ajay Jose, SBM hightlighted on the topic
Strategic Planning for Pastoral Leadership and also on creative thinking. They spoke
about the strategic plans that align with organizational mission and goals in pastoral
contexts.
Dr. Shrikumar M, SBM spoke on the title Adaptive Leadership. He focused on enhancing
leaders' adaptability to navigate changing environments, resolve conflicts, and inspire
collaboration.
Day 3: Dr. Mareena Mathew, SBM dealt with the topic Financial Management and
Resource Allocation. She explained about the essential financial skills to manage
resources effectively, to develop budgeting and resource allocation plans.
Dr. Rekha Hitha Aranha, SBM illustrated on the topic Coaching and Mentoring for
Leadership Development. She elaborated on the strength of leadership by coaching and
mentoring others. Thus, in detail displayed the coaching skills for performance
improvement and mentoring programs within the organization.
Day 4: Dr. Georgy Kurien, CHRO, CU explained on the topic Building High-Performing
Teams. He revealed the characteristics of high-performing teams and helped to develop
team-building strategies inorder to foster a culture of accountability and trust.
Dr. Sathiyaseelan B, SBM and Dr Delma Thaliyan, SBM articulated on the title
Emotional Intelligence in Leadership. They spoke on the self-awareness and emotional
regulation to improve leadership effectiveness.
Day 5: Dr. Dilip Chandra S, SBM expounded on the topic Innovative Problem Solving
through Design Thinking. He introduced Design Thinking as a structured approach to
innovative problem-solving. Helped to apply Design Thinking to real-world challenges.
Fr. Thomas TV, Director, SBM hightlighted on Organizational Development and Change
Management. He explained the organizational dynamics, manage change, and build
resilience. Inorder to be effective leaders he dealt on the way to conduct organizational
assessments and design and implement a change management plan inorder to improve
organizational agility and responsiveness.
Day 6: Dr. Anil Joseph Pinto, Registrar, CU spoke on the topic Leadership Legacy and
Sustainability. He defined leadership legacy and its importance. Highlighted on the
sustainability strategies for organizational longevity.
In conclusion, the seminar was highly beneficial for the participants. It enhanced
their leadership skills, provided contextualized learning, offered expert instruction,
had comprehensive coverage, a focus on practical application, and emphasized
personal and professional growth.
