Equipping Marathi Lay Faithful: NBCLC Seminar Ignites a Passion for Service

29 Oct, 2024

From October 29th to November 6th, 2024, NBCLC became a beacon of empowerment for 60 Marathi lay faithful from the Western Region, hosting the transformative "Called to Serve: Empowerment of the Laity for the Mission of the Church" Marathi Laity Seminar. This 10-day intensive program, a collaborative effort between NBCLC, Jeevan Darshan Kendra, and various dioceses, aimed to cultivate leadership skills and deepen the faith of its participants.

The seminar was inaugurated by Fr. John Baptist and Fr. Anil Pereira, setting the stage for a period of profound learning and spiritual growth. The curriculum was meticulously designed, encompassing a wide array of topics essential for effective lay ministry. Participants delved into the depths of the Bible, explored the richness of the Liturgy and Sacraments, and strengthened their understanding of Catholic faith.

Daily meditation, prayer, and Mass provided a solid foundation for spiritual nourishment, while sessions on Catholic doctrine and practical leadership equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to serve their communities effectively.

The program was not merely theoretical; it was highly practical and experiential. Participants gained hands-on experience through daily assigned duties, fostering a sense of responsibility and shared ownership. This practical approach ensured that the knowledge gained was readily applicable to their respective ministries.

The overarching aim of the seminar was to provide comprehensive training and spiritual enrichment, enabling lay members to effectively serve the Church. By deepening their faith and enhancing their leadership skills, the program aimed to empower participants to become active and engaged members of their communities.

The seminar concluded with a certificate distribution, recognizing the participants' dedication and commitment to their faith and service. Participants left NBCLC equipped with enhanced knowledge, practical skills, and a renewed sense of purpose, ready to embrace their mission with passion and dedication. This Marathi Laity Seminar was a resounding success, igniting a flame of service within the hearts of the participants and strengthening the lay faithful's contribution to the Church.
