Empowering Shepherds: NBCLC Seminar Fortifies Religious Leadership for a Changing World

From July 11th to 18th, 2024, NBCLC Bengaluru became a crucible for leadership development, hosting a vital seminar that drew 40 religious leaders from across India. This intensive program, expertly guided by Rev. Fr. John Baptist, aimed to equip these dedicated individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of contemporary religious life. The seminar's curriculum was meticulously crafted to address the diverse challenges faced by religious leaders today. Participants explored the canonical aspects of religious life with Fr. Sunil Kumar D'Souza, gaining a deeper understanding of their legal and administrative responsibilities. The complexities of generational differences were addressed by Rev. Bro. Paul Raj SG, fostering a greater understanding of intergenerational dynamics within religious communities.

Recognizing the personal and professional transitions faced by many religious, Rev. Fr. Tony Thampi C.S.C. provided valuable insights into navigating mid-life challenges. The seminar also addressed the critical issue of child protection, with Mrs. Arlene Manoharan, Mrs. Kushi Kushalappa, and Fr. Merlin R. Ambrose providing essential training and resources. Embracing the Church's call for synodality, Rev. Fr. Kurian Kachappilly CMI explored the principles and practices of synodal leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. Rev. Fr. Olvin Veigas SJ delved into the intricacies of mission leadership, inspiring participants to renew their commitment to evangelization and service. Finally, Sr. Metti Amirtham addressed the crucial topic of women empowerment, promoting gender equality and fostering a more inclusive Church.
