He elaborated on the Curriculum & Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programs,
emphasizing the policy’s transformative impact on higher education. Some of the points

• Jurisdiction and Role of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF)

DAY 4: Safe Environment & POCSO Criminal Laws
Mrs. Kushi’s key notes were:

DAY 5: Safe Environment at the Workplace - Canonical Perspective
Father Richard Pious addressed these subjects as follows:
• Safeguarding is crucial as vulnerable individuals are always at risk.
• Sacramentorum sanctitatis Tutela (SST) and other guidelines were used to explain:
o Impact of abuse and exploitation of laborers
o Canonical understanding of safeguarding, its provisions, and the historical context
of structure & norms being introduced
• References from Various Church documents, including Sacramentorum sanctitatis Tutela
(SST) and other guidelines on creating a Safe Environment.•
• Discussed issues related to pornography and Delicts against morals by clerics, members
of Institutes of Consecrated Life (ICL), Societies of Apostolic Life (SAL), and Lay
faithful.•
• Explained the guidelines formulated by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI)
for maintaining a safe Environment and the specific Safeguarding Policy.
DAY 6: Safe Environment at the Workplace
Mrs. Arlene:
• The session was based on the core values of the Church & religious life.
• Safeguarding & protection measures for every individual were explained in detail with
examples.
• All the Church teachings on safeguarding & protection measures were discussed. How
Canon Law applies to all these was discussed.
• How we need to be very vigilant regarding problems that arise in our workplaces.
• How every human being needs to be treated.
The participants learned to recognize, report, and prevent abuse, understanding the legal and
ethical obligations from both Church and state perspectives. Furthermore, the focus on
workplace safety, through both canonical principles and practical application, enabled attendees
to implement effective safeguarding measures and promote a culture of dignity and respect.
Ultimately, the course empowered participants to become informed, responsible, and proactive
advocates for ethical conduct and the protection of vulnerable individuals in their respective
spheres.
