Lent 2017 - A Time Of Grace

Accompanying Jesus in his journey of passion death and Resurrection was is the goal of the three weekend programmes on lent and on the Liturgy of the Holy week.

The first step in this journey began with a day of reflection on Ash Wednesday. A large number of religious, formees and two priests entered into the Holy season of lent, with a prayerful penitential service.

Fr. Gilbert Choondal, sdb in his introductory talk drew lenten lessons from the prevailing chaos of Indian traffic. He explained the significance of the 40 days through various Biblical references and pointed out that the period of lent is call to repentance, fasting, testing and prayer. The Lenten practices should lead to a transformation in our life.

Based on the teachings of Pope Francis, Fr. Gilbert presented ten difference creative practices for lenten penitence. The adoration and personal sacrament of reconciliation, were followed by a mercy way of the cross and a grace filled Eucharistic celebration.
